Some Successes, Some Setbacks

I need another computer, another contact with the outside world, out of sight from Jay. This one is ok, but I have to put my musings onto a memory stick/key thing and transfer it to my laptop – the Dilly Dell thing. I call it Dilly as in Dilly Daydream, cos the Dell people sell you a machine which is supposed to be all singing and dancing – and everything stops working in one form or another as the months pass, until you buy the upgrades. I refused to be cheated in this way, and got my software else-ware.

That’s not what I wanted to chat about. I just wanted a girlie chat. I noticed that some of my fave blogs are going through a slow period, and that made me aware of my own slowdown too. So I’m chatting.

When I first found the Angels site, I saw Joanna’s post – 10 things every Trannie should know about passing, or some such thing. I’d discovered one or two of them myself.

Waxing: now there’s a problem. I started waxing everything when I realised I was actually a girl, and most of them Jay has banned, but she hasn’t banned waxing the backs of my hands and fingers, or the ‘V’ cleavage of my chest. Waxing the backs of your hands was one of those ’10 things’. If I remember where it was, the list of 10 that is if you are not concentrating, I’ll post a link. The NfY, Niece from Yorkshire, told us a story about one of her workmates. He was so hairy, they nicknamed him Gorilla; it appears his hair went down his arms and right to the ends of his fingers. I had a bit of a smirk, me with thick hair down to my watch line, (when I wear a watch, which is rarely), and then nothing! That’s a bit mean though, calling a guy a gorilla, although gorillas are nice friendly creatures. I had waxed legs all last summer, but eventually the aggro got too much and so I stopped. I’ve bought some hair dye to dye them blonde, so they don’t show up – well, it’s not as if they won’t be there is it – but I’ve chickened out doing it so far.

Plucking the eyebrows – ouch. This is a success. Jay was not impressed when I first did it; the big give away being the pale skin uncovered by the plucking. The good news is – the skin tans up after awhile, and so I continued plucking the darn things without any more hissy fits. Jay trims them with scissors when she cuts my hair – she is very talented, and I love her to bits – so I also trim them myself with an electric razor, which keeps the mass down, while plucking helps the shape.

Nails; they are a blooming nuisance – they never stop growing – oh, you’ve noticed too – and they break off just as I’m getting them into a nice shape. Jay whinges if they get too long for her taste – but mostly she is OK. I think she must gradually get used to them, until suddenly – wham – she suddenly notices I’ve got nice medium length rounded – I don’t care for square – nails. The other thing that attracks unwanted attention is when we both go to grab the same biro or something, and I stab her with a nail – “Your nails are too blooming long again!” quickly follows the ‘ouch’. It’s no wonder that girls use stick on nails, but I have yet to try those. Hmm, that could be this months experiment!!!

Well, that was a nice chat, for me anyway. Bye for now, Anna.

    Hi Anna
Why the 2nd computer, not online on the 1st? I’ve not seen the list so do pass a link.

Waxing, never done, I use Veet and/or razors ~ I seem to get away with doing it occasionally (all over too!) but it is not very popular.

Eyebrows – A-M seems ok about this. I keep short (with electric razor) pluck the odd loose one but try not to be excessive. Personally, I thought she would object, but it seems she is more worried that I might look like Denis Healey (or my dad) with professor like eyebrows.

Nails – I only like homegrown rounded (ideally slightly pointed). I tend to grow in the lead up to going out. A-M hates it as it is an outward sign of femininity so I do cut them almost immediately after event and am careful around anyone I think might notice. She hates it when I ‘drum’ my finger nails as it reminds her how long they are!!

As you say they do grow quickly. A boon but a nuisance too.

ps I found one of my blogs at the top of a search headed ‘tg’ as featured blog but I did this from google and haven’t been able to do it from within wordpress!

    Tina xx

By the way, sorry to hear about the fall. What were you doing up a tree in the first place, lol. Now purple eh, my favourite colour! Hugs Tina x

It was only a small tree, and I was only a cople of feet off the ground. It all looks rather pathetic, but an inch either way and I would have been seriously injured. I was just so lucky.

    Yehhh – purple rules LoL.

    Hi Tina,

We have 2 computers on line, Jay’s desk top, which we can both use, and my laptop, which is all mine, unless the TT (Terrible Trio) are home, and then they scrounge both the desk top and the lap top. These are both in the lounge, and so Jay can spot what I’m up too – sometimes, LoL. The third computer is in the hobbies room upstairs, my dressing zone. It’s used for – hobbies, surprise surprise, – cam corder video editing, watching DVDs, listening to music, making DVDs and CDs, doing things with photos, doing labels and inserts for Jay’s card making. She’s very artistic.

I normally keep the screen angled so Jay can’t see what’s on it, and a spare tab or window to change to if she gets close, but I guess she knows the signs; I make a window change when she appears, or I’m typing a lot. So it would be good fun to dress and access the net at the same time. The hobby machine is slow, only has ME, and not much RAM, and is 7 years old. I had to upgrade Jay’s operating system to XP so it worked with the broadband programs, and stuff extra memory into it. It was well worth doing, – it keeps Jay occupied for ages. Jay said the other day that she hates Angels, hates the laptop, and wishes she had never bought it for me, ( a Xmas present). Angels is only a tenth to a fith part of my user time actualy, now I have madea few friends with whom I can chat to via emails and blogs, and lots of blogs to follow too.

Veet, – that’s the chemical stuff, right? I used something like that once, but Jay can smell it a mile off, and is very anti of course. She knows I use the wax strips, and tolerates it to a certain extent, but under sufferance, and partly because she thinks I use it on my chest, and she has already set limits on the size of the V that I can keep clear. I actually keep that clear by regular plucking. I tried to make the eyebrows more curvy, but I do much the same as you. Like A-M, she is more worried about the Dennis Healey affect too – LoL. I like my nails longer all the time, as I have no highlights to look forward too. LIke you, I like the slightly pointed / rounded points. Yes, I can understand A-M’s dislike of the nails, – it breaks that girlie girl / manly man arrangement you have. That’s why I wondered if the stick on variety would be more in favour.

    Hugs Anna x
