More make-up tips ? or not!!!

This posting was going to be, “Anna and the easy way to do Make-up”. OK, not quite easy make-up, but easy eye-shadow. It had been going so well, the eye shadow, until I tried using two colours together. To be fair, it did look good the first time, ooohhh, but the second time, it looked awful. What about eye-liner you may ask – it looked like some one had borrowed a black line off a zebra crossing – it was even more aaawful. And the mascara stuff, it went on fairly well, …… but, it was bright blue. OK, ok, there was a tiny label saying – electric blue – but as it had a bar code on it too, I thought it was just the pricing label. All the Rimmel stuff seems to be in black bottle things; no colour coding at all.

Oh my goodness, but it was, well is, fun. I’m hooked on make-up. So I guess the time will come eventually, when I’ll be going for the, (fanfare), makeover. If I had had another girl with me to share the fun, it would have been even more hilarious.

I hadn’t realised that I would need to be an artist to get the best out of my make-up. I have found that Nivea body moisturiser makes a good foundation cream. The eye shadow is bolder and darker when I’ve moisturised my face first. It’s handy too, for keeping eyebrows neat and tidy, and if your hold-ups have lost there tackiness before you’ve laddered them, then a dab or two or three around the thigh before you put them on, keeps them in place quite nicely. Probably not worth trusting for an evening out on the town, (village – LoL), without doing a wear test, but it was ok at home. You’ll want to wear your best ones when you go out, anyway.

Yes, I know, genetic girls (gg’s) wouldn’t wear hold-ups under their jeans at home, but sometimes I just need the cosiness of having something feminine on. And on that note, I wish every one a merry Xmas, and may your desires come true in 2010. May your god or guiding spirit, go with you. Hugs, Anna.

I have shared your make up journey. Your right about needing to be an artist or at least being relaxed and not rushing to get the best applcation first time and both eyes matching. I love make up too but I dont bother unless I have at least a good 5 hours solid, to wear it without having to take it all off. Its just too much time and trouble for any less than that at least for me.

I still sometimes wear hold ups under my jeans, its lovely in winter as they really do keep you feeling warm and snug, in the summer I find them a little too warm and close, especially as I wear socks in my boots or shoes, I didn’t do this at first but found the rough lining of mens shoes made horrid scuffs on my tights and holdups at the ankle so I wear socks to protect my precious hold ups and to hide the sight of them for when I’m sitting down and my trousers (pants) ride up my legs.

I enjoy your posts very much, I look forward to getting to know you more in 2010. have a lovely Christmas, and happy new year!

    Hugs, Helen

      Hi Helen,

I only sneak sub 60 minutes dressing time at the moment, so I’m not going for the whole works. Sadly, what ever I put on, has to be removed pretty quickly. Still, it’s better than some girls get. That’s why I under dress, at every opportunity. For shoes I wear trainers mostly, in BoB mode that is, and the Reebok ladies ones are indistinguishable from the guys. One helpful shoe shop lad gave me a funny look when I said they were for me – well, he thought he was going to be helpful – LoL. I’ve got one pair of men trainers that I use for exercising in, so they had to be male to get the correct amount of suspension, but for normal use, ladies are fine.

Have a nice Xmas, Hugs, Anna

    Hi Anna

Sounds like you are having fun with the make-up. I hope you managed a few girly thoughts over Christmas. Mine were mostly around the giving and receiving of presents late on Christmas Eve,

Make-up is practice, pure and simple. Sadly we don’t get a lot of that, even if you get a chance to dress properly a few times a month, as I do, it’s barely enough time to experiment. Still it is great fun to try and I just love it!!

I hope you had a great family Christmas and that your New Year will bring health and happiness.

    Hugs
    Tina xx

      Hi Tina,

Xmas was fun, family wise – lots of games and food, nice wine, lots of chat and repartee – but sad cos I so wanted to be Anna. Not an option for the foreseeable future. No one noticed my make-up though – LoL.

Nice to read you had such a good time. Happy new year to you all down there.

      Hugs, Anna xx
